Toni Evans, daughter of the late Clifton S. and Lydia Lois Crank Leirer, was born in Dexter on March 15, 1959, and died at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau on Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at the age of 47.
Mrs. Evans and her husband were the former owners of B.J.'s III in Puxico, and she had also worked as a sales representative and plant manager with Waupaca Materials in Sikeston. She was a graduate of Bloomfield High School and had attended Southeast Missouri State for two years, and she was a member of the United Methodist Church in Puxico, the Puxico V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post #7825, and the Puhicah Club of Puxico. She enjoyed gardening, decorating, shopping, and her grandson Jackson.
On Oct. 6, 1979, she was married to Eldon Evans in Bloomfield.
Surviving are her husband Eldon Evans of Puxico; one son, Josh Evans of St. Louis; one daughter, Jessica Christian of Thompsons Station, Tenn.; one grandson; three brothers, Glen L. Leirer of Panama City Beach, Fla., Walter L. Leirer of Destin, Fla., and Richard Wayne Leirer of Carmel, Ind.; five sisters, Dora Bailey of Fort Worth, Texas, Ann Lewis of Puxico, Pat Wilcox of Springfield, Fay Robertson of Perryville, and Lydia K. Leirer of Kansas City.
Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. Friday, July 7, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Puxico with Rev. Dennis Doublin of Puxico officiating.
Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery near Puxico with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
