Mrs. Shearon met her husband, G. Dale Shearon, while they were serving the U.S. Army as recruiters in Detroit, Mich. They were wed in Livonia, Mich., on April 20, 1952. Mr. Shearon survives of the home at Dexter.
Mrs. Shearon was a beloved mother and homemaker. She was a dedicated volunteer Red Cross worker who spent many long hours assisting the needy of Southeast Missouri after storms, fires and/or floods. Additionally, her volunteer work took her to North Dakota, California, Florida, and Louisiana in support of floods, earthquakes and hurricanes.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Dale Shearon, Jr. of Tallahassee, Fla., and David Shearon of Ellenton, Fla.; one daughter, Nancy Shearon of Mitchell, S.D.; one sister, Helen Davidson of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, David William Patrick of Braddenton, Fla.; eleven nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Patrick.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 2006, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ron Williams officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
