He had been a resident of Humboldt, Tenn., for the past eight years and formerly lived in Missouri most of his life.
He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Humboldt, Tenn., and was a licensed minister with the United Pentecostal Church International.
He was formerly employed by Staley Paint Corporation in St. Louis and Blakeney Dairy and Ideal Bread Co. in Poplar Bluff.
On May 22, 1954, he was united in marriage to Iva Leora Dever.
Survivors include two sons, Rev. Jackie Wilkerson of Humboldt, Tenn., and Steve Wilkerson of Branson; three daughters, Helen Gregory of Jackson, Tenn., Darlene Corley of Bay City, Mich., and Penny Wood of Bay City, Mich.; two brothers, Bob Wilkerson and Gary Wilkerson, both of Sikeston; two sisters, Ada Lee Hamilton and Jeanette Massey, both of Benton; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Hicks; and two brothers, Dennis Wilkerson and A.C. Wilkerson.
Visitation was held after 5 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2006, at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk with Rev. W.C. Parkey, Rev. N.A. Haynes, Rev. Carlton Johnson, and Rev. Ron Brown officiating.
Interment followed in Shain Memorial Cemetery.
