Ruby Mae Mitchell, daughter of the late Cecil Cleo Holder and Emma Baird Holder, was born on Oct. 2, 1915, at Ravenden Springs, Ark., and died in the Highland Nursing Center at Highland, Ind., on Saturday, July 8, 2006, at the age of 90.

Mrs. Mitchell was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, had lived in Maryland, Ind., and several years in Dexter before moving to Griffith, Ind. She was a homemaker.

She was united in marriage to Gilbert W. Mitchell on May 11, 1936, at Charleston. Mr. Mitchell preceded her in death on April 18, 1993.

Survivors include one son, Cecil "Corkey" Mitchell of Tampa, Fla.; one daughter, Barbara Crownover of Griffith, Ind.; one brother, Cleo Holder of Dexter; one sister, Jeanne Triplett of Dexter; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from noon until 1 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with John L. Moore officiating.

Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.
