MaryEllen Medler
MaryEllen Medler, daughter of the late Elmer Aslin and Elizabeth Launius Aslin, was born on Jan. 19, 1926, at Bloomfield and departed this life in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter on July 13, 2006, at the age of 80.

Mrs. Medler was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter, a former secretary for the United States Navy Civil Service, a former secretary for the Stoddard County Draft Board and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Chester "Chet" Medler on Oct. 26, 1946, at Piggott, Ark. Mr. Medler survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides her husband, survivors include two daughters, Sherry Snider and husband Mark of Dexter and Dr. Paula Medler of Tucson, Ariz.; by two grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Snider of Cape Girardeau and Christopher Snider of St. Louis.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Noel Aslin, Neil Aslin, Glenn Aslin and James Thomas Aslin and by two sisters, Lila Wheeler and Betty Yeager.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 2 to 4 p.m. today, Sunday, July 16, 2006. Funeral services will then be conducted at 4 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Louis Low and the Rev. Roy Sherfield officiating. Interment will follow in the Liberty Cemetery near Bloomfield.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund or to the Preferred Hospice in Dexter.
