Mary Ann Wilson, the daughter of the late Frank and Nettie Rampley Strauser, was born in Bloomfield, Ind., on Oct. 14, 1909, and died at the Missouri Southern Healthcare facility in Dexter on Thursday, July 20, 2006, at the age of 96.

Mrs. Wilson had lived in Leora before moving to Dexter in 1978. She was a member of the Westside Baptist Church in Dexter and a charter member of the Leora Baptist Church.

On Jan. 18, 1934, she was married to Edward Wilson in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1972.

Surviving are two sons, Loren Wilson of Bloomfield and Gary Wilson of Bloomfield; two daughters, LaFern Smith of Bloomfield and Shelby Bennett of Arnold; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by one grandson.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Doug Scott of Puxico officiating.

Interment will be in Leora Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
