Shelby Dee Ellis was born Dec. 29, 1940, at Risco and died Sunday, July 23, 2006, at Dexter at the age of 65.

She was the daughter of Reda Vivian Hatchett Brown of Malden and the late John Henry Brown.

On Jan. 28, 1966, she was married to Glenn M. Ellis in Moline, Ill.

She was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn Ellis of Dexter; two sons, David Ellis of Moline, Ill., and Rodger Ellis of Malden; one daughter, Debbie Henderson of Dexter; her mother, Reda Brown of Malden; three brothers, Georgie Brown of Malden, Johnnie Brown of Campbell, and Donnie Brown of Malden; four sisters, Ruby Liggons of Malden, Mable Gosa of Beaverton, Ala., Dorothy Thomas of Gun Barrel City, Texas, and Judy Arthur of Malden; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Lenn Ray Ellis.

Visitation was held at 6 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2006, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services were conducted at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at Bradshaw Funeral Chapel in Malden with Rev. James Bolin and Rev. Earnest Puckett officiating.

Interment followed in Sadler Chapel Cemetery at Dexter.
