Mr. Harris was a farmer, a member of the Morehouse Masonic Lodge where he had served as Worshipful Master and a resident of Dexter.
He was united in marriage to Opal Martin on April 1, 1938, at Matthews. Mrs. Harris preceded him in death on March 9, 1983.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Lewis of Atoka, Tenn.; two sisters, Earla Harris of Matthews and Edberdean Cowger of Sikeston; five granddaughters; seven great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Larry Donald Harris; his long-time companion, Bonnie Schindler; and three brothers.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. A Masonic service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2006, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Don Cooper officiating.
Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
