She was a retired nurse's aid and had lived in the Morehouse and Matthews areas most of her life before moving to Texas five years ago. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Matthews where she served as a Sunday school teacher.
On May 8, 1975, she was married to Robert Lee Rodgers in Morehouse. Her husband preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1996.
Surviving are one son, Larry Bryan of Alvin, Texas; one daughter, Abbie Ward of Sikeston; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild. She is also survived by one brother, Howard Bryan of Mobile, Ala.; two sisters, Lillian McCulley of Sikeston and Vickie Sinden of Camden.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; two sisters, and one great-grandson.
Visitation was held from 12-1 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse with Rev. Don Heitman of Matthews officiating.
Interment followed in the Hagy Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
