Carol Jean Kirkpatrick, daughter of the late Elvis Rennie Jines and Maggie Marie James Jines, was born on Jan. 7, 1941, at Parma and died at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau on Saturday, July 29, 2006, at the age of 65.

She was united in marriage to Edward Robert Kirkpatrick on June 29, 1957, in Bernie. He preceded his wife in death on June 12, 2003.

Mrs. Kirkpatrick had attended 1st Oneness Pentecostal Church in Bernie and was a resident of Bernie.

Survivors include two sons, Tim Kirkpatrick and Mike Kirkpatrick, both of Bernie; one daughter, Shela Burch of Bernie; one sister, Freda Bridges of Dexter; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death other than by her parents and her husband by one brother, Jerry Jines; and one sister, Margaret Forkum.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Maxwell Lewis officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
