Mrs. Monroe had spent most of her life in the Bloomfield community. She was a housewife and had attended St. Joe General Baptist Church at Idalia.
Survivors include two sons, Sam Sexton and Aubrey Monroe, both of Bloomfield; two daughters, Lula Bell Stroud of Redman, Ariz., and Thelma Menley of Bloomfield; and two brothers, Ira Stroud and Fred Stroud, both of Bloomfield.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2006, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Bob Holland officiating.
Interment followed at Bluff Cemetery near Bloomfield.
