Fornie M. Monroe, daughter of the late Sherman and Hattie Yates Stroud, was born at Essex on April 25, 1926, and died at Beverly Healthcare in Bloomfield on Saturday, July 29, 2006, at the age of 80.

Mrs. Monroe had spent most of her life in the Bloomfield community. She was a housewife and had attended St. Joe General Baptist Church at Idalia.

Survivors include two sons, Sam Sexton and Aubrey Monroe, both of Bloomfield; two daughters, Lula Bell Stroud of Redman, Ariz., and Thelma Menley of Bloomfield; and two brothers, Ira Stroud and Fred Stroud, both of Bloomfield.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2006, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Bob Holland officiating.

Interment followed at Bluff Cemetery near Bloomfield.
