Melba Jean Christian, daughter of the late William Luther Honey and Lillie Cochrain Honey, was born on July 25, 1932, at Ward, Ark., and died at her residence near Dexter on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006, at the age of 74.

Mrs. Christian was a former employee of Tyson Foods in Dexter and a resident of rural Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Dolan Jess Christian on June 14, 1952, at Piggott, Ark. Mr. Christian preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 1991.

Survivors include one son, Gary Alan Christian of Bloomfield; one daughter, Rhonda Lee Crockett of Rockledge, Fla.; one brother, Thomas P. Honey of Bernie; two sisters, Wilba D. Conner of Paragould, Ark., and Janice R. Honey of Dexter; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. James A. Hook officiating.

Interment will be conducted at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
