Annie Lee Palmer, daughter of the late Alanzo Farr and Sallie Vines Farr, was born on Feb. 28, 1930, at Hackelburg, Ala., and died at her residence in Bernie on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, at the age of 76.

She was united in marriage to John Wesley Palmer, Jr. on Feb. 10, 1956, at Hernando, Miss. Her husband preceded her in death on May 3, 2001.

Mrs. Palmer along with her husband owned and operated the Bootheel Jamboree in Bernie. She was an entertainer. She was also a member of the Missionary Alliance Church in Bernie.

Survivors include five sons, Jack Palmer, Ron Palmer and Johnny Palmer, all of Bernie, Larry Palmer of Bloomfield, and Randy Palmer of Glennburnie, Md.; five daughters, Sandra Cryts, Linda Merritt, Rita Burch, and Sally Cloninger, all of Bernie, and Brenda Smith of Bloomfield; three sisters, Janie Moceri of St. Louis, Mamie Patterson and Eunice Hicks, both of Sikeston; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death, other than by her parents and her husband, by two daughters, Linda Jane Ford and Debra Palmer; four brothers, Wesley, Alvin, Allen and Albert Farr; four sisters, Rhoda and Lonie Farr, Ellen Hardin and Minnie Mullineaux.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, in the Rainey-Mathis Chapel with Rev. Ivan Mekan officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
