Eva Evelyn Cavness, daughter of the late John Samson Redding and Clara Elder Redding, was born Jan. 21, 1917, at Gideon and died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006, at Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich, Mich.

In 1937 she was united in marriage to Leonard Cavness who preceded her in death in 1961.

She had been a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church in Gideon.

Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Ferris of Clio, Mich., and Shirley Long of Burton, Mich.; two sons, Kenneth Cavness of Burton, Mich, and Berley Cavness of Clio, Mich.; two sisters, Bessie Ryan of Burton, Mich., and Mary Poe of Dexter; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by three children, Leonard Samson "Sonny Boy" Cavness, Clara Evelyn Cavness, and Bill Cavness; one brother, Dummie Redding; and one sister, Isabell Polsgrove.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.

Graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, at Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton.

Interment will follow.
