Myrtle Pauline Whitwell

Myrtle Pauline Whitwell, daughter of the late Robert Rice and Edna Longar Rice, was born on March 21, 1917, at Bernie and died in Rochester Hills, Mich., on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006, at the age of 89.

Mrs. Whitwell was a member of the Church of Christ at Rochester Hills, Mich., a former member of the Dexter Church of Christ and a former assembly worker for National Twist Drill Company at Rochester, Mich.

She was united in marriage to Millard Francis Whitwell on Sept. 24, 1933. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1974.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Whitwell of Hohenwald, Tenn., and Ronald Whitwell of Davison, Mich.; by six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Evan Rice; and two sisters, Laverne Fralick and Juanita Rice.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the Dexter Cemetery with Dearvin McClellan officiating. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter is in charge of local arrangements.
