Millie Jarrell, the daughter of the late William and Myrtle Pittman James, was born in Zalma, on June 12, 1921, and died at the Beverly Health and Rehab Center in Dexter on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, at the age of 85.
She had lived in Zalma and Puxico before moving to Dexter in 1968. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter.
On Aug. 19, 1938, she was married to John W. Jarrell. He preceded her in death on Aug. 10, 1977.
Surviving are one son, James W. Jarrell of Dexter; two grandsons; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wilbert and Lee Roy James, both of St. Louis; two sisters, Beulah Kesterson of Tulsa, Okla., and Modine Kitchen of Denver, Colo. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Marylin M. Jarrell; two brothers, Hubert and Billie James; and one sister, Della Bess.
Visitation will be held after 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Louie Lowe and Rev. Roy Sherfield, both of Dexter, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico in charge of all arrangements.
