Virginia Mae Wright, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006, at her home. She was born Sept. 7, 1922, in Stoddard County, the daughter of Alfred and Anna Ward Clark. She and Charles L. Wright were married on Jan. 18, 1941, in Piggott, Ark. He died Jan. 23, 2002.

Mrs. Wright grew up in Dexter and moved to Cape in 1961.

She was a cook for Cape Public Schools at Alma Schrader School for 22 years, retiring in 1984.

She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by two sons, Ron Wright of Springfield, Ill., and Jerry Wright of Denver, Colo.; one daughter, Beverly Darter of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Demaris Stevens of Dexter; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, one sister.

Visitation will be held at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, from 4-8 p.m.

Funeral service will be at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. William L. Burke officiating.

Interment will be at Cape County Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Wright, Terry Darter, Joe Hoehn, David Hohler, Bob Seabaugh, Joe Parks.

Memorials may be made to Southeast Hospice.
