James "Sam" Sinyard Jr.

James "Sam" Sinyard, Jr. raised by his grandparents, William and Maybelle Sinyard, was born in Hawkinsville, Ga., on Sept. 23, 1946, and died at the Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton, Ill., on Sept. 11, 2006, at the age of 59.

Mr. Sinyard had lived most of his life in Georgia before moving to Holcomb nine years ago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam.

He was married to Belva Brigman in Gatlinburg, Tenn., on Aug. 21, 1999.

Surviving are his wife, Belva Sinyard of Holcomb; one son, James Brian Sinyard, Sr., of Hendersonville, N.C.; two daughters, Cheree Dawn Talent and Cheryl Diane Baynard, both of Hendersonville, N.C.,; two brothers, Larry Joe Sinyard and James Allen Sinyard, both of Gordon, Ga.; three sisters, Patricia Adams and Cindy Adams, both of Hawkinsville, Ga., and Regina Sinyard of Tifton, Ga.; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be held after 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Roger Ogelvie of New Madrid officiating.

Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
