Joyce Nell Zimmerman, daughter of Tom Corbin Goldsmith and Eva Alta Carver Goldsmith, was born Oct. 7, 1935, at Bastrop, La., and died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, at her residence in Malden.
She had been united in marriage on July 5, 1952, to William Lee (Bill) Zimmerman in Malden. She had worked at Brown Shoe Factory and various other jobs. She later owned and operated Goldsmith's Cash & Carry, and later Joyce's Variety Barn in Malden. She had been a member of First Assembly of God Church in Malden and was active in Praise and Worship Team and played the piano.
Survivors include her husband, William Lee (Bill) Zimmernan of Malden; two sons, Garland Lee Zimmerman and Wade LaMont Zimmerman, both of Malden; two daughters, Cynthia RaChell Zimmerman of Vandalia and Sheila Denise Wayne of Clarkton; one sister, Merlene Avanell Hayes of Branson; two step-sisters, Shirley Graddy of Greenway, Ark., and Donna Burcks of Valley Springs, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Gertie Goldsmith; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Tom Goldsmith, Jr.; and three sisters, Evanita Goldsmith, Reba Goldsmith, and Lillian Goldsmith.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, at Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, at Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden with Rev. Dale Shoup and Rev. James Bolin officiating.
Interment followed in Elder Cemetery at Campbell.
