She attended school in Dexter, Memphis University in Memphis, Tenn., and Gradwohl in St. Louis. She had worked for 41 years as a medical technologist and due to health problems had recently retired from Ionia County Memorial Hospital in Ionia, Mich. She married the love of her life Jim L. Harris on April 18, 1967, and he survives. Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Tonya Harris and John and Jennifer Harris of Michigan; three granddaughters, Jazmine, Chaley and Samantha; brothers Dale and Peg Kirkbride of Dexter and Steve and Johnita Kirkbride of Rolla; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Marie Harris and Kay and Willis Young of Gowen, Mich.; brother-in-law, Ray and his wife Maxine Harris of Stanton, Mich; several aunts, uncles and cousins all who have helped keep her spirits up during her illness.
According to Joyce's wishes, cremation has taken place. No visitation or funeral services were held.
