Mrs. Chapin had been a resident of Kansas City for many years before moving to Dudley in 2004. She was a member of the Holmeswood Baptist Church in Kansas City.
On Dec. 23, 1943, she was married to Lawrence E. Chapin.
Surviving are her husband, Lawrence E. Chapin of Dudley; two sons, Thomas R. Meadows and Miles G. Meadows, both of Dudley; one daughter, Sharon M. Hill of Leawood, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles V. Orr of Dudley; one sister, Peggy Dawes of Lees Summitt.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Cooper and Ina Richeson; and three brothers, John, Raymond, and Carroll Orr.
A private memorial service was held Monday, Sept. 25, 2006, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Rev. Donald Morgan of Dudley officiating.
Interment was in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
