Mr. Lawson was a former automobile mechanic, affiliated with the Harvest Assembly of God Church in Essex, and a resident of Essex.
On May 12, 1984, he was united in marriage to Louella Lawrence in Essex. Mrs. Lawson survives of the home in Essex.
Besides his wife, other survivors include two daughters, Billie Lawson and Barbara Lawson, both from Oregon; two step-daughters, Goldie Payne of Jonesboro, Ark., and Sharon Rice of Kennett; five brothers, Paul Lawson, Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz., Leroy Lawson, Ronnie Lawson, Walter Lawson, and Shorty Lawson, all of Oregon; two sisters, Barbara West of Heptner, Ore., and Maxine Silves of Brush Prairie, Wash.; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, in the Harvest Assembly of God Church in Essex with Rev. Larie Burdine officiating.
Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
