Lois M. Manes, daughter of the late Hollis Dewitt and Effie Ratliff Dewitt, was born on June 8, 1941, in Morehouse and died on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston at the age of 65.

Mrs. Manes was a housewife and a resident of Essex most of her life.

On June 6, 1959, she was united in marriage to Bobby Manes in Morehouse. Mr. Manes survives of the home in Essex.

Besides her husband, Bobby Manes of Essex, other survivors include one son Randy Manes of Sikeston; two brothers, Charles Dewitt of Sikeston and Jerry Dewitt of Texas; two sisters, Joann Matthews of Sikeston and Mickey Rudisill of Morehouse; and by three grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Natalie Renae Harden; four brothers, two of which were in infancy; also by two sisters in infancy.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Malloy officiating.

Interment will follow at the Dexter Cemetery.
