Gary M. Rowland, Sr., son of the late Joseph H. and Artie A. Bullman Rowland, was born in Parma on April 10, 1948, and died near Matthews on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at the age of 58.
Mr. Rowland had lived most of his life in Parma. Gary was retired from Noranda Aluminum where he had worked for 29 years. He was currently employed by Monsanto Seed Company in Matthews. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Parma and a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard.
Surviving are three sons, Gary Max Rowland, Jr. of St. Louis, Brian Keith Rowland of Campbell and Jacob Kristopher Rowland of Memphis, Tenn.; one grandson; one brother, Danny A. Rowland of Dexter; three sisters, Jane Evelyn Campbell and Marilyn Jeanette Ludwig, both of Parma, and Shirley Ann Corn of Texas.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Lelon Rowland.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Parma with the Rev. Randy Thomas of Sikeston officiating.
Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma in charge of arrangements.
