Mary Euvon Pool

Mary Euvon Pool, the daughter of the late Fred and May Brock Hester, was born in Cleburne County, Ark., Feb. 15, 1937, and died at her home in Cape Girardeau on Oct. 6, 2006, at the age of 69.

Mrs. Pool had lived in Dexter for 22 years before moving to Cape Girardeau three years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

On Aug. 2, 1952, she was married to Raymond Pool in Paw Paw, Mich.

Surviving are her husband, Raymond Pool of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Ronald Pool of Malden, Donald Pool of Kennett, and John Pool of Dexter; two daughters, Janet Hankins and Joyce Smith, both of Dexter; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Arnold Hester of Mountain Home, Ark.; two sisters, Lovella Weldon of Hoganville, Ga., and Edith Palulski of Trenton, Fla.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Arlie Hester; and two sisters, Arvema Northrop and Ava Lilies.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Glenn Hamilton of Cape Girardeau officiating.

Interment followed in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
