Cecil Joseph Treece

Cecil Joseph Treece, 87, of Hatton, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, at Boone Hospital Center. He was born July 6, 1919, in southern Missouri, the son of the late Daniel Boone and Rozella (Hoystclaw) Treece. On Jan. 7, 1937, in New Madrid, he was united in marriage to Edna Marie (Edwards) Treece who preceded him in death on Oct. 7, 2005.

Survivors include one son, Dale Treece of Hatton; one daughter, Margaret Gromer of Columbia; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, one son Donald Treece and a sister, Eldeana Chiles preceded him in death.

Mr. Treece worked as a farmer and was a member of the Rising Sun Baptist Church. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and gardening.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas, Fulton.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at Rising Sun Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Palmer and Rev. Charles Brown officiating.

Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Hatton.
