Wanda Jean Thomas, daughter of the late Herbert Aarant and Daisy Tracer Aarant, was born on April 12, 1934, in Dexter and died at the Bethesda Healthcare Facility in Fayetteville, N.C., on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, at the age of 72.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter, a housewife, former resident of Dexter and a current resident of Fayetteville, N.C.
On May 10, 1952, she was united in marriage to Robert "Jerry" Thomas in Piggott, Ark. Mr. Thomas survives of the home in Fayetteville, N.C.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Allan Thomas of Fayetteville, N.C., Dennis Randall Thomas of New Hill, N.C., and Master Sergeant Douglas Scott Thomas of Goldsboro, N.C.; one sister, Janice Baker of Dexter; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, in Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Kenneth Biggs officiating.
Interment will follow in the Old Bethel Cemetery in Dexter.
