George M. Quinton, the son of the late William Wesley and Iola Fletcher Quinton, was born in Snowdenville, Mo., on Nov. 28, 1922, and died at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter on Oct. 26, 2006, at the age of 83.
Mr. Quinton had lived in Dexter all of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He worked as a school bus driver for 40 years for Dexter Public Schools. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. of Dexter and was of the Baptist faith.
In 1943 he was married to Wilma Imogene Shell in Piggott, Ark.
Surviving are his wife Imogene Quinton of Dexter; four sons, Roger and James Quinton, both of Dexter, Bob Quinton of Grandin, Mo., and Gary Quinton of Sikeston; one daughter, Ellen Rickman of Albany, Ore.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley Stewart of Piedmont, Mo.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006, at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2006, at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Mike Foster of Dexter officiating.
Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
