Neoma Faries

Neoma Faries, daughter of the late Tom and Fern F. Vails Kinsey, was born in Holcomb on May 1, 1919, and died at the Twin Rivers Medical Center in Kennett on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, at the age of 87.

Mrs. Faries was a homemaker and had lived in the Canalou and Morehouse communities from 1964-1996 when she moved to Bloomfield. She moved to Dexter in 2001. She attended the Canalou Assembly of God Church, and she loved gardening.

On Dec. 20, 1934, she was married to David M. Faries in Risco. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1997.

Surviving are three daughters, Lou Jones of Kevil, Ky., Barbara Ann Moses of Catron, and Linda Diane Cagle of Dexter; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Frances Matlock of Caholda, Ill.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Inett Faries; three brothers, Howard, James and Johnny Kinsey; and one sister, Dorothy Turman.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Michael Cartwright of Matthews officiating.

Interment will be held in the Dexter Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
