Delmer Dale Underwood, son of Delmer and Imogene Wilkison Underwood, was born at Bloomfield on July 14, 1947, and died at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Monday, Nov. 13, 2006, at the age of 59.
Mr. Underwood had spent his entire life in the Bloomfield community. He was a 1965 graduate of Bloomfield High School, a veteran of the United States Army serving in Viet Nam where he received a Bronze Star, and a lifetime member of the Bloomfield Amvets. On July 16, 1988, he was married to Dian Northcutt.
Survivors include his wife, Dian Underwood of the home in Bloomfield; his parents, Delmer and Imogene Underwood of Bloomfield; one son, Master Sgt. Scott Underwood of the U.S. Air Force stationed at McDill Air Force Base at Tampa, Fla.; one daughter, Erin Hendershot of Bedford, Ind.; two step-sons, James St. Cin and Bill Boening, both of Columbia; one step-daughter, Cindy Foriester of Wappapello; 16 grandchildren, Kylie Jean and Kayla Dale Ray Hendershot of Bedford, Ind., Eric, Donnie, D.J., Matthew, Mia, and Ryan Underwood, all of Tampa, Fla., Tyler and Tanner Boening of Bloomfield, Jack and Alex Boening of Columbia, J.D. and Nicole St. Cin of Hot Springs, Ark., and Jessica and Hannah Foriester of Wappapello.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Vyron Yount officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with full military honors.
