Effie Leon Foster, daughter of the late Elmer Burnett and Ivy Gilbrith Burnett, was born March 24, 1923, and died Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at Gideon Care Center.
On Aug. 15, 1944, she was united in marriage to Otis Eugene Brown, and he died in 1965. On Dec. 21, 1972, she was united in marriage to Earl Foster, and he preceded her in death on March 1, 1992.
Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Nall of Clarkton; three sons, Thomas Brown of Canadian, Okla., Wayne Brown of Lake Placid, Ill., and Jerry Brown of Gideon; three sisters, Margretta Throgmorton of Bloomfield, Dorothy Blunt and Betty Taylor, both of Dexter; one brother, Thomas Stoker of Newport, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Paul Ray Brown and Ricky Brown; two daughters, Patsy Brown and Alice Maddox; and two brothers, Ray Stoker and Odell Stoker.
Visitation was held after 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden with Rev. Jack Allen officiating.
Interment followed in Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
