David Lloyd Byrd, the son of the late James Lloyd and Virginia Henley Byrd, was born in Grayridge on March 14, 1951, and died at his home in Dexter on Nov. 27, 2006, at the age of 55.

Mr. Byrd had lived in Bloomfield for many years and had moved to Dexter a short time ago. He had worked as a heavy equipment operator.

Surviving are one brother, James Byrd of Sikeston; three sisters, Imogene Gaines and Delois Hunley, both of Sikeston, and Sandra Gaines of Dexter.

Visitation was held after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Graveside services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.

Interment followed in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
