Mary Margaret Johnson, daughter of the late John Alvin Williams and Millie E. Pipkins Williams, was born on Nov. 13, 1920 in Dunklin County and died at her granddaughter's residence in Fort Smith, Ark., on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, at the age of 86.
Mrs. Johnson was a former employee with Brown Shoe Company, member of the United Methodist Church in Bernie, and a resident of Bernie.
On June 5, 1937, she was united in marriage to Louis Hadley Johnson in Gideon. Mr. Johnson preceded her in death on June 15, 1984.
Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie Sue Gibson of Fort Smith, Ark.; one brother, Richard Williams of the state of California; two sisters, Joyce Lancaster of Risco and Frieda McCoin of Spiro, Okla.; and two grandchildren, Tracy Roxanne Ahlert and husband Greg of Fort Smith, Ark., and Dean Hadley Gibson of Fort Smith, Ark.; and great-granddaughter, Lillie Gibson of Fort Smith, Ark.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Harold Dean Gibson; three brothers, James A. Williams, Robert Williams and John Edgar Williams; and one sister, Ruby Callahan.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, with Rev. Susan Marner-Sides and Rev. Ron Dunavin officiating.
Interment followed in the Malden Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
