Carl Ernest Alexander, son of the late William Alexander and Eva Miller Alexander, was born on July 19, 1923, at Bloomfield and died in the Florida Hospital at Wauchula, Fla., on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at the age of 83.
Mr. Alexander was of the Methodist faith, a retired switchman for Grand Trunk Western Railroad in Michigan, a veteran of the United States Navy, Past Master of the Genesee Masonic Lodge #174 at Genesee, Mich., where he was a life member, a member of the Flint, Mich., Shriners and a resident of Dexter.
He was united in marriage to Imogene Wilson on Dec. 27, 1945, at Seattle, Wash. Mrs. Alexander survives of the home in Dexter.
Besides his wife, survivors include one son, Ronald (Joyce) Alexander of Franklin, Tenn.; one daughter, Carla (Gerald) Huber of Elberton, Ga.; one brother, Virgil Alexander of Flint, Mich.; one sister, Velma Wantland of Raymondville; five grandsons, Greg, Jeffrey, Carl, Casey and Chad; and three great-grandchildren, Rachael, Davis and Brooks.
Visitation will be held from 12:30-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Norman Ogles officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri Veteran Cemetery at Bloomfield at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2006.
