Ray T. Jones, Sr., the son of the late Raymond and Rosie Beatrice Rigsby Jones, was born in Earlington, Ky., on Feb. 19, 1930, and died at his home in Dexter on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at the age of 76.

Mr. Jones had lived in Dexter most of his life. He was affiliated with the Pentecostal church.

He was married to Mary Turner.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Jones of Dexter; three sons, Ray T. Jones, Jr., Randy Jones, and Robert Johnson, all of Dexter; four daughters, Brenda Jones, Ann Craver, Christy Norman and Debbie Jones, all of Dexter; 23 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three grandchildren.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Steve Turner of Sikeston officiating.

Interment followed in the Dexter Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
