Carl Wayne Downing

Carl Wayne Downing, the son of Odessa Ellis Downing and the late Carl W. Downing, was born in Kennett on July 30, 1945, and died at the K.F.J. Manor in University City on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at the age of 61.

Mr. Downing had lived in St. Louis most of his life. He was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from the Marine Corps where he served in Vietnam.

Surviving are his mother, Odessa Downing of Dexter; his brother, Lester Gene Downing of Fults, Ill.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Downing.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Rev. Mike Watkins of Dexter officiating.

Interment will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter in charge of arrangements.
