Betty Cross, daughter of Alva Rowley and Julia Ann Allen, was born Dec. 18, 1930 at Fisk and died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at Golden Living Center in Malden at the age of 76.

On Aug. 6, 1949, she was united in marriage to Wayne Cross at Piggott. He preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 2000.

She was a retired office clerk for Ozark Border Electric Company and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Smith of Clarkton; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, C.L. Rowley; and one sister, Verba Romines.
