Richard Ford

Richard Lee Ford, son of the late Waldo Ford and Louise Neal Ford, was born on Dec. 26, 1938, at Morehouse and died in the Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, Kan., on Jan. 6, 2007, at the age of 68.

Mr. Ford was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter, the owner of Richard's and Rich-Plus Paper Company in downtown Dexter, was an author, a member of the Heartland Writer's Guild, a graduate of Memphis State University with a law degree, and a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity.

He was united in marriage to Rosemary Sliger on May 28, 1961, at Morehouse. Mrs. Ford survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife, survivors include one son, Henry Ford of Dexter; by one daughter, Rhonda Neuman of Olathe, Kan.; one brother, Ronald Ford of Huntsville, Ala.; and two grandchildren, Rachel Neuman and Zack Neuman, both of Olathe, Kan.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Biggs officiating.

Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
