Melba Jane Hunsaker-Corbin, the daughter of the late Verlon L. and Ruth Hatley Fincher, was born in Diehlstadt on May 4, 1940, and died at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter on Jan. 14, 2007, at the age of 66.

Mrs. Corbin had been raised in the Essex area, had lived in St. Louis for 10 years, and moved to Dexter in June 2006. She was a Baptist.

Surviving are four sons, Russell Hunsaker of Springfield, Gary Hunsaker of Dowell, Ill., Tommy Hunsaker and Kevin Hunsaker, both of Dexter; one daughter, Sharon Snodgrass of Moberly; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Daniel Fincher of Marmaduke, Ark.; four sisters, Verline Smith of Hole in the Wall, Tenn., Janice Grymes of Portageville, Donna Boone of Kennett, and Elaine Holland of Reeds.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter and one brother, Milburn "Toad" Fincher.

Memorial funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at 10 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Paul Grymes of Portageville officiating.
