Melba Greer Venable, the daughter of the late Clyde and Ollie Taylor Greer, was born in Dexter on June 10, 1960, and died at her home in Dexter on Jan. 16, 2007, at the age of 46.

Mrs. Venable was a life long resident of Morehouse and Dexter. She had attended the General Baptist Church in Morehouse.

Surviving are one son, Daniel Venable of Dexter; three brothers, Tommy Joe Greer and Terry Greer, both of Morehouse, Dickie Greer of Kenentt; two sisters, Joyce Tackett and Dianne Lenderman, both of Morehouse. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Donnie Greer.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, from 3-4 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Memorial service and interment will follow at a later date. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
