Rev. Elbert J. Mason, son of the late Floyd E. and Ruth Wagster Mason, was born in Kennett on Feb. 27, 1937, and died at the Parkland Health Center in Farmington on Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at the age of 69.

Rev. Mason was the senior pastor of the Irondale Assembly of God Church. He had served in the ministry for over 50 years and had been ordained by the Assembly of God Church for 47 years.

He was married to Mary F. Roberts.

Surviving are his wife, Mary F. Mason of Irondale; two daughters, Pamela Tune of Houston and Kim Gowan of Colinsville, Ill.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vada Eaton of Sikeston and Barbara Montgomery of Dexter; two brothers, Bill Mason of Advance and T.J. Mason of Lake Wales, Fla.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Lawrence; and four brothers, Gerald, Don, Leroy and Eugene Mason.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the C.Z. Boyer Funeral Home. Interment was in the Sunset Hills Cemetery in Potosi.
