SMSgt James K. Williams, retired U.S. Air Force, son of the late Archie and Lona Parmenter Williams, was born at Chaffee on Aug. 19, 1935, and died at his home in Bloomfield on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at the age of 71.

SMSgt Williams was a graduate of Bloomfield High School and retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1995 after 33 years of service. He had been a resident of Bloomfield the past seven years.

Survivors include one son, Mike Williams of Bloomfield; two brothers, Gary Williams of Nashville, Tenn., and Eddie Williams of Bloomfield; four sisters, Patsy Laxton of Ellington, Nancy White of Cape Girardeau, Ann Ruddick of Mt. Vernon, Ill., and Mary Kay Gilles of Dexter; and three grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Williams.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating.

Interment with full military rites will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield
