Martin A. Blunt, son of the late Henry A. Blunt and Violet Rose Summers Blunt, was born on April 11, 1930, in Stoddard County and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at the age of 76.
Mr. Blunt was of the Pentecostal faith, a carpenter, a veteran of the United States Air Force, and a resident of Dexter.
He was united in marriage to Betty Humphrey Huber on Oct. 26, 1986, at Dexter. Mrs. Blunt preceded him in death on Aug. 16, 2000.
Survivors include one son, Ronny D. Blunt of Brush, Colo.; three daughters, Debra G. Blunt of Sikeston, Kathy J. Ivy and Sherry D. Busick, both of Dexter; three brothers, Lorane R. Blunt of Dexter, Raymond C. Blunt of Poplar Bluff and J.W. Blunt of Wappapello; five sisters, Nancy Kalmbach of Swartz Creek, Mich., Wilma Tanner of Burton, Mich., Anna Mae Lambert of Grand Rapids, Mich., Mary Lou Gay of Flint, Mich., and Patsy Clubb of Kinder; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Stanley Blunt and Robert Blunt; one brother, Henry Blunt; and two sisters, Opal Ward and Gladys Dixon.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Russell officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sadler Chapel Cemetery near Dexter.
