Lillian Mae Whitehead, daughter of the late Willis Myers and Hester Mekan Myers, was born on Dec. 12, 1931, at Powe and died at the Golden Living Center in Dexter on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, at the age of 75.

Mrs. Whitehead was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Powe.

She was married to Virl Calvin Whitehead on Dec. 17, 1949, at Piggott, Ark. Mr. Whitehead preceded his wife in death on Feb. 13, 1987.

Survivors include six sons, Calvin Dean Whitehead, Timothy Dale Whitehead, Virgil Ray Whitehead, David William Whitehead and Jonathan Dewayne Whitehead, all of Dexter, and Kevin Thomas Whitehead of Puxico; five daughters, Cathryn Mae Jones of Millersville, Janette Marie Powell of Bernie, Nancy Ann Anderson of Ledbetter, Ky., Deanna Lynn Seager of Granite City, Ill., and Natalie Faye Dowdy of Jackson; two sisters, Charlotte Jurek of Calwell, Texas, and Norma LeDue of St. Charles, Ill.; 26 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death other than by her parents and her husband by two brothers, Marvin Myers and John Myers; and by three sisters, Clara Myers, Sue Myers and Helen Whitaker.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Bro. Shelby Taulbee officiating.

Interment will follow in the Smith Stevenson Cemetery in rural Dexter.
