John David Rupert was born in Pennsylvania on August 17, 1928, and died at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Feb. 2, 2007, at the age of 78.

Mr. Rupert was a former resident of Oklahoma, but had resided in Dexter for the past five years.

On April 17, 2002 he was married to Violet Wade at Dexter.

Surviving are his wife, Violet Rupert of Dexter, four stepsons, James Wade and Randy Wade, both of Dexter, Mike Wade of DeSoto, Mo. and Bob Wade of Rossville, Ga., two step-daughters, Kathy Spruell of Dittmer, Mo. and Brenda Wade of Dexter, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Ray Rowland of Dexter officiating.

Interment will follow in the Armstead-Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
