Shirley M. Pickett, daughter of the late Joseph Raymond Teel and Myrtie Chambers Teel was born on April 29, 1936 at Gideon and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter on Feb. 1, 2007 at the age of 70.
Mrs. Pickett was a homemaker and was of the Full Gospel Faith.
She was married to Claude E. Pickett on Oct. 15, 1952 at Piggott, Ark.. To this union four children were born.
Survivors include her husband, Claude E. Pickett of Bernie, one son, Randy Pickett of Bernie, by three daughters, Erline Williams of Parma, Deborah Dunn and Jean Pickett both of Bernie, three brothers, Wayne Teel of Texas, Melvin Teel of Bernie and Gary Teel of Dexter, six sisters, Louise Winchester of Gideon, Thelma Weathers of Dexter, Wanda Truax of Bernie, Wilma Teets of Dexter, Linda Thacker of Bernie and Loretta Stanburg of St. Louis, by nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death, other than by her parents, by one brother, Paul Teel; by two sisters, Martha Teel and Dorothy Teel; by one grandson, Joseph Pickett.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Feb. 5, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Chapel with Rev. Jim Crutchfield officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
