Jewel Reimler, 88, of Advance, was born April 1, 1918, near Advance, the daughter of Fred C. and Minnie I. Taylor Croy and died Feb. 6, 2007, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Jewel was a member of the First Baptist Church of Advance; she was a Sunday School teacher, W.M.U. Director and sang in the choir. She worked as the director of the Senior Citizen program in Bollinger County and helped establish Senior Citizens Clubs in Zalma, JCT 51-91, Glennon, Leopold, Patton and Lutesville.

Jewel also helped her husband farm and operate a grocery store and service station near JCT 51-91 for many years.

Jewel and Chris Reimler were united in marriage on Oct. 26, 1935, at Jackson, and he preceded her in death on March 30, 1976.

Survivors include two sisters, Betty Cato of Cape Girardeau and Clara Belle Walker of Oxford, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald; two brothers, Evan and Rex and a sister, Pauline Knight.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at Advance First Baptist Church in Advance with Rev. Eric Shrum officiating.

Interment will follow in Dongola Cemetery.
