Mildred Taylor, daughter of the late Edwin Wooley and Lilly Tite Wooley, was born on April 30, 1917, at Dudley and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, at the age of 89.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter, a former cook with the Dexter Public School System for 20 years and a resident of Dexter.
She was united in marriage to Luther Gilford Taylor on Dec. 24, 1935, at Dexter. Mr. Taylor preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 1992.
Survivors include three sons, Darrell Taylor of St. Peters, Carroll Taylor of Las Vegas, Nev., and Paul Taylor of St. Louis; one daughter, Patricia Stafford of Greenville, S.C.; one brother, Edwin Wooley of Poplar Bluff; four sisters, Aline York and Ruby Dowdy, both of Dexter, Adele Eagle of Little Rock, Ark., and Ruth Young of Flint, Mich.; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Moore and Floyd Moore.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Biggs officiating.
Interment will follow in the Armstead Dowdy Cemetery.
