Mr. Copeland was a veteran of the United States Army, former employee of Kinder Excavating in Dexter, and a resident of Dexter.
On Jan. 16, 1971, he was united in marriage to Jonnie Sue Cravens at Dexter. Mrs. Copeland survives of the home in Dexter.
Other survivors include two daughters, Rebecca L. Marchant and Melissa A. Copeland, both of Dexter; three brothers, Jesse Copeland of Florida, Johnny Copeland and James Copeland, both of Arkansas; two sister, Hazel Copeland of California and Dorothy McNair of Oklahoma; and one granddaughter, Courtney N. Copeland.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Maude Baughman.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Jim Hoyt officiating.
Interment followed in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
