Evelyn Duley

Evelyn Duley, daughter of the late O.C. Rainey and Nina Norman Rainey, was born on March 17, 1927, at Dexter and died in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, at the age of 79.

Mrs. Duley attended the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter where she was baptized in March 1999. She was a former employee of Paramount Headwear in Dexter and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Leo Duley on July 24, 1948, at Piggott, Ark. Mr. Duley preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 2001.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and David Bailey of Dexter; one grandson, Joseph Walker of Dexter; and one brother, Charles Rainey of Bonne Terre.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Bob Rainey, Lee Rainey, Marvin Rainey, Loyd Rainey and Dale Rainey; and two sisters, Dorothy Rainey and Ruth Dreadon Gaylord.

Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Phil Warren officiating.

Interment followed in the Dexter Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, or the American Juvenile Diabetes Association.
